Spot metering for composition, deliberately blowing out the background
in this image I quickly switched to spot metering linked to the focus point (bride’s face) and then adjusted the exposure while using live view to get this natural photo of the bridesmaid in the wedding car, by deliberately blowing out the background it leads the viewer into the picture to my chosen subject matter
how the image might of looked if I had relied on zone or matrix metering,
simulation done in photo editing programme
the third option would of been to use forced flash, however this would of resulted in unpredictable shadows caused by the flash and also the back proving to be a distraction in the final image, let me know your thoughts….
